Baby Showers!

Little Samantha's due date is getting closer and closer... it's less than 6 weeks away now!  Therefore, it is about time to start organizing and getting things ready for her.  (Of course, her nursery has been basically ready for her since December since that's just how this Type-A Momma does things).  Three of my sweet friends from my home group threw me a bird-themed baby shower this weekend.  (Her nursery is paisley and birds).  Even the foods went with the theme.

 I felt so blessed to have so many friends and family show up.  In fact, I had people who came all the way from Arlington, Waco, and Houston!  It was such a joy to see everyone!

For the shower itself, we munched on delicious brunch-type foods (as seen above), played Baby Bunco (you roll for ONEsies, terrible TWOs, THREE a.m. feedings, etc...), and I opened the plethora of gifts all these ladies spoiled Samantha with.  It was a wonderful morning!  And the fun didn't stop there.  After the shower we met up with the boys of the family (who had been playing frisbee golf) and had lunch and good social time before they all headed back out of town.

The next day, we were supposed to have lunch with our youth minister and his family after church.  However, when he had to make a "pit stop" to get something from the youth building, we were surprised by our 11th graders throwing us yet ANOTHER shower!  Our co-teachers had coordinated a lunch in our honor.  It was such a wonderful surprise.  I forgot to take any pictures of that one (probably since I was so caught off guard).  But here is the diaper cake we got at this shower.  (Hopefully Samantha's bum should be covered for a few weeks after all these diapers we've been given). 

 It was such a special weekend.  This baby girl is already so spoiled and so blessed.  When she comes into this world, she will have so many people ready to love her.  As her mommy, I couldn't ask for anything better! 

And next week my school is throwing me YET ANOTHER shower...
