Christmas 2014

Clearly Christmas was going to be a bit different this year with a three-week-old. Normally I'm a FREAK when it comes to christmas. My husband has to keep me from decorating the house in September and skipping all of the other fall holidays. Normally we also do advent activities and readings daily in December to build up to the holidays. Sadly, very little of that happened this year with the preparation for a newborn and then taking care of said newborn. We DID decorate the house, but not as elaborately as I normally would. Christmas lights also didn't happen. We bought a blow up for the yard so there was SOMETHING happening out there and our neighbors wouldn't hate us.

Since we had to do thanksgiving alone this year and we didn't want to do Christmas alone too, we conned my parents and brother Blake to join us. We went to service at our church for the first year, ate a lot of yummy food, watched Samantha and the grown men play with all of their new toys and just had a lot of fun being together. It was great having Blake home for a bit. We kinda like him ;)

The biggest hit for S were all of the presents NOT from her parents. She got a baby doll with a stroller and car seat (from uncles Blake and Brad) and a playhouse for the backyard from Nana & Pops. It was a great year with family and having TWO little girls around. It was really fun with S being old enoug to truly participate. I'm excited for both girls to keep aging and participate in Christmas activies more and more each year! ...and to actually do all of my activies ;)
